Mrs. Raymond HOLMES, who has been seriously ill for several months died in Union Hospital, Terre Haute on Thursday evening of last week. Funeral services at the home of OL Reddish on Saturday afternoon were in charge of Rev. John Servies. Burial at Bethany Cemetery. The music for the services was furnished by the Farm Bureau Champion Quartet of Bloomingdale. Mary Ruby REDDISH, daughter of CW and Eva Reddish, was born Aug 22, 1899 in Parke County near Waveland. She was united in marriage to Raymond W. Holmes Oct 28, 1920 and lived in this vicinity until 1923. The latter part of September she was taken seriously ill and after weeks of suffering on Wednesday night Nov 15, she departed from our midst to abide with her Heavenly Father in that Great Beyond. She attended HS at Russellville and Waveland, was assistant postmistress at Waveland several years, was a member of the Methodist Church and Kappa Delta Phi Sorority at Rushville, Ind and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary at Kokomo where she has lived for the past 5 years. Those left to mourn the passing of this dear one are: the husband, the mother, a sister, Mrs. William OGLESBEE of Oak Park, ILL; four brothers, Otto of Waveland; John of New Market; Warren of Cincinnati, Ohio; Cyril of Frankfort, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Her father and a brother, Omer preceded her in death. Ruby was a devoted wife who loved her home and was ever ready to welcome her many friends. She lived a life of sacrifice -a ways thinking of others and believing truly that it is more blessed to give than to receive. All of the brothers and sisters were present except Warren who is in London, England. All of the teachers in the Riley school at Kokomo in which Mr. Holmes is vocational instructor were present and also Mr. and Mrs. Harris and Mr. and Mrs. Freeman of the same city. kbz
